9 ADDITIONAL PROGRESSIVE LEADERS

Washington, DC - 21st Century Democrats is proud to announce the endorsement of nine additional candidates for the 2008 election cycle. These progressive leaders are the second of three groups of candidates selected for endorsement by 21st Century Democrats' Board of Directors at their quarterly meeting.

"I'm proud to support such an energetic and progressive group of candidates who will stand up for all people rather than big corporations," said 21st Century Democrats Executive Director Mark Lotwis. "They promise to bring change to America through their hard work, strong ideals, and bold policies. I am confident that these candidates will achieve common sense solutions which solve the problems faced by all Americans - not just the wealthy."

21st Century Democrats endorses candidates who have a passion for and commitment to progressive ideals. Once elected, these officials will uphold civil rights for all Americans, bring a responsible end to the war in Iraq, refocus the failed education policies of the Bush administration, and set aggressive standards to control climate change. With outstanding leaders such as the nine being endorsed by 21st Century Democrats today, America can restore its image at home and abroad.

This group of candidates from several of the country's most fiercely contested battleground states including New Mexico, Michigan, New Jersey, Florida, and North Carolina.

• Michael Calderin - State House, 119th District, Florida
• Anton Gunn - State House, 79th District, South Carolina
• Summer Starr - State House, 12th District, Hawaii
